From: Marion GUEST, curse your evil genius! :) Actually with his silly Scottish accent, I didn't have all the words right anyway. In the the last verse I heard a somewhat cryptic "This bar's our dyke", and I would never had figured out "sair work's nae easy." Have fun, Hille, and if you do any more Dougie McClean take a look at Ready for the Storm - it's my favourite of his stuff. Marion

From: Nemesis Marion and Guest: Just a Post script to that - what a fabulous song (lyric-wise it looked rather unpreposessing), but musically I thought it was gorgeous - gonna try doing some Paul Brady-ish harmonies on it. Thanks for all you help! Hille xx |

RESCUE ME
Old layers of time have buried the ways that the others have grown
CHORUS: Rescue me he says rescue me
And see these guilty hands that envenom the soil and take the like from his fields
And so the plough it will turn and our hearts they will burn for sair works nae easy
