Welcome to the zoo, Rory! There are quite a few Mudders in Canada, no doubt some of them will be by shortly.

Ah, but now you have to read the FAQ thread so you will know it ALL.

There are no stupid questions either-- only a couple of people who stupidly ignore the answers once they get them. *G*

Welcome to Mudcat.

Hi Rory,

I'm living in Georgia. My licence plate says NEWFIE, When people ask I tell them that Newfies are the smartest people in Canada. I'm from Newfoundland. I love/play/write Newfounland and Irish style folk songs, Old time american folk and blues as well as some more modern stuff. How about you?

OH hell! Not another CANADIAN!!!!

Just kidding, Rory. Welcome and if you'll just steer clear of Rick Fielding, and a few other Canadian Mudcatters up there, I'm sure you will enjoy this community. They will pollute your mind, particularly if you lean toward a conservative political philosophy (which I readily admit is not like :>))

Welcome Rory, pull up a barstool and enjoy. Sometimes we go on and on and on and on, you will just have to get used to it and jump on in when the water feels fine.

Jack The Sailor,

Is it true that all you have to do to frustrate a Newfie is to nail one of his feet to the floor and then play "I'se the Bye" ?

Welcome to the Mudcat, Rory B.

I bet we have at least two or three dozen Mudcatters in Canada, and a few from Canada living in other places. And a few from other places living in Canada. (And one or two in other places wishing we could be in Canada, at least part of the time.)

I thought about using "Ms." but could not bring myself to apply it to a beauty pagent title. Even such a high class pagent as this one obviously is. I do know know which is more charming. Your lovely "Vanna White" pose or your offical throne!! **G**

Be sure to read all about Rick Fielding's brothers, Reg, Reg, and Reg. Thye hang out a lot with Spaw's cohorts, Cletus and Pa. You can find the relevant threads in the FAQS, WYSIWYG mentioned.

Enjoy and thanks for introducing yourselves!

Yeah great......More friggin' Canucks.......Among others there are Steve Latimer, Rick Fielding, Little John Cameron, Peter T. (who has a heron he dresses up like Waylon Jennings), Sophoclese, Metchosin, Clinton Hammond, ddw, Musicman, Lyrical Lady, Hesperis, Little Hawk, Gnu, Flattop, Mooh, Tony Burns, George, Balladeer, Crowhugger and Mom, Willie-O, Marion, and about two dozen others at least. We got so many Canadians here you can't swing a dead cat without hitting one, if that's your idea of a good time........and being Canadian, it probably is.

In ant case, welcome to the 'Cat. Here you will find many intelligent, knowledgeable, talented, erudite, friendly, and compassionate people, I am none of the above, but try to believe me, there are some around. If you have anything you need to know or need to ask after reading the FAQ, ask somebody else, and if you have any ideas or opinions, please keep them to yourself.

Wow...what a great welcome!!! (the cheque is in the mail DW!!) I am from Winnipeg - game show for pirates (win-a-peg), for those of you that asked where in Canada. That is on the beautiful prairies.....where you can watch your dog run away from home for an hour. The blues is my first love although I love all music. The older delta stuff is my current favorite. I love this site already!! Thanks again for the welcome and thanks DW for telling me about it. Hugggs -Rory-

Hello again. Just came back on line and saw all the postings of welcome. For kat - Yes, NB means New Brunswick, (sorry spaw, another canuck i'm afraid). Alice - Iread the entire thread about Spencil Hill and it blew me away. The words just sent me in a spin. I am really new to the computer so I don't know a lot about listening to tunes etc. but I am learning and hope to master this soon so I can really appreciate all the tunes that are posted and the ones in the DT. DougR - I will raise a glass to,and for, you. I am enjoying the madness more and more. VF

The whole FAQ is excellent, but here are some links I am experimenting with, that take you to some of the key subjects. I'd love to know if these are helpful. (Be aware that they may expire as working links when a Mudcat upgrade occurs.)
