10 Oct 01 - 11:36 PM (#569511) Subject: We saw the boom mic in Songcatcher!!! From: katlaughing That's right, Spaw, it's another *Ta Dum* SONGCATCHER thread!! I couldn't resist this one. The Cinema Club brought it to town, showing this one night only and it was a wonderful movie, loved the music, but I am wondering if we got the "B" version? The boom mic was so prevalent it became an ongiong joke. It was pretty absurd. Rog thought maybe they'd done it tongue in cheek at first, but then we decided it was too often to be that, or if it was, they went way overbaord! Other than that, the singing and picking were incredibly beautiful, as I know has been said plenty of times. There wasn't enough of Taj Mahal, but it was still wonderful. So...sorry Spawmyluv...but I wanna know...was the boom mic on purpose or were we cheated outta the A+ version...anybody? Thanks! kat |

Well, I guess not because there are so damn many and the info is such a mish-mash, you'd have to add it to all and that would mean refreshing them all and............ Oh well......I'm hoping to check out a copy as the release to video is the 23rd and I have told two stores they need to get it. From: katlaughing Naw, ya see, Spaw, I had to do this one special, just for you because it was more about the boom mic thna the show!**BG** Jim, thanks fr the explanation. I know at the beginning the projectionist hadn't put on the right lens and the whole thing was stretched horizontaly so much it was comical, like looking at it in funhouse mirrors. They quickly changed that, but your eplanation also tells me why we couldn't see the bottom third of the movie, at times. There is one scene where he gives a dulcimer and from their shoulders down was off-screen. I think I will call the Cinema CLub and the threatre, today and tell them they should re-show it, free of charge! Thanks! kat |
