At best about 10% live in the UK At best about 10% of those are interested in your club At best about 25% of those interested, could get to your club At best about 30% of those interested would bother to come to your club Doing the math, at best you'll get 0.03476 of an extra person at your gig. I'm planning to go to at least 2 of those nights, so ya boo sucks to you AND your Maths! It's time you learned that the world DOES NOT revolve around either the States or YOU!! Chris - any chance of some directions from the nearest Tube station? I'm guessing one of the three Acton stations is near it..... my A-Z is at work and I'm not! Do they accept floor singers and are there any singaround nights at all? LTS - grateful for any news of any more folk clubs in London that don't happen on Tuesday or Thursday!

Another 3 regulars here that I know of are in easy reach of Acton. If all 6 turned up it would make a big difference to the club and would fill the list for floor spots. If they brought friends and passed the news on to other people don't you think it was worth the message being posted? Guest - Not on the carpet, please! And wipe your chin - you're still dribbling |

He is one of the best guitar players I've ever seen, and Anahata and Mary are both astonishing box players - melodion and English Concertina, respectively. EJ |

18 Oct 01 - 02:10 AM (#574674) Subject: RE: New F.C. in Acton London UK From: Chris Amos Amazing what you get in the Mudcat when you are after a little free advertising. The Club, called Roots Focus, is being run by Michael & Julia of Hemlock Music who work very hard promoting folk music in the UK Its a 10 minute walk (so that rules out the Americans again)from Acton tube station, buses available. Rather than having floor singers the evening has an open music session from 7.30pm followed by the support act and the main act, another session, more from the acts and finishing off with yet another session) Rest of the bookings are 28th Nov Jean-Pierre Rasle (French Bagpipes) 5th Dec Robb Johnson 12th Dec Mad Dogs and Englishmen 19th Heaven Shouting Perhaps I should say I have no connection with Hemlock Music, other than doing the odd gig. Regards Chris |
