Lyr Req: Alabamy Bound (DeSylva/Green/Henderson)

Reading the thread on "Alabama Jubilee" made me think of a song called "Alabama Bound". There is a song by that name in the DT, attributed to Leadbelly (I think I have it on a recording by Doc Watson.)

But I'm thinking of a different song. I believe it starts something like "I'm Alabama bound, don't want no heebie-jeebies hangin' around ..." and there is also a line about "I'll put my tootsies in an upper berth."

Anyone have it?

This sounds like the sort of song sung whilst waving a straw boater about. The tune I recall is up tempo and usually called "Alabammy Bound". Not the Leadbelly one, of course. Sorry not to have been more help.

ALABAMY BOUND
Words by Buddy DeSylva and Bud Green, music by Ray Henderson. ©1924.

I'm Alabamy bound
There'll be no heebie-jeebies hanging 'round
Just gave the meanest ticket man on earth
All I'm worth
To put my tootsies in an upper berth

Just hear that choo-choo sound
I know that soon we're goin' to cover ground
And then I'll holler so the world will know
Here I go
I'm Alabamy bound

I'm Alabamy bound
They'll be no heebie-jeebies hanging 'round
Just gave the meanest ticket man on earth
All I'm worth
To put my tootsies in an upper berth

I'm just a lucky hound
To have someone to put my arms around
That's why I'm shoutin' for the world to know
Here I go
I'm Alabamy bound

Thanks for bringing back some memories... I'd forgotten all about this song. While it's not Alabama related, I have a great love for Sailing Down To Chesapeake Bay. Don't know if anyone else is a big Clancy Hayes, Bob Scobey fan, but they recorded many songs of this type. Ocean Roll is another great one..

Hi Don... It's a great song, much fun to sing, rollicking and room for a BIG FINISH! I first heard it in The Purple Rose of Cairo and couldn't leave it alone until I;d worked out all the chords.

Supposedly lyrics in the tune, Alabama Jubileeinclude a medley of 2-3 tunes (?) Way Down On the Levie, In Old Alabamy, Waiting on the Rob't
E Lee, if not, am I confusing the three tunes in the medley above.?
I can't find lyrics for above individually or in group on Mudcat.
