I predict that sometime in the next year:

-there will be a thread on Mudcat complaining about trolling guests;

-in that thread, someone will call on Max to make posting a members-only privilege;

-in that thread, someone will remember how Mudcat used to be and leave in a huff;

-in that thread, many will beg the huffer to stay while others will say goodbye and good riddance;

-in that thread, someone will complain about the control exerted by Mudcat's inner clique and many will respond that there is no Mudcat inner clique.

That is my prediction. I make it on October 19, 2001. Will it come true?

I predict that Nostradamus will continue looking in on this thread as long as it runs, although disdaining to actually talk to us suckas. On the other hand, he may do just the opposite in order to prove this prediction wrong. His envy of Spaw's popularity has evidently driven him slowly mad. Poor kid. Spaw has unwittingly become a role model for thousands of pimply-faced keyboard pounders across the nation, merely by engaging in scatological humour way too often on this forum.

What puzzles me, though, is why they come here in the first place? I came here because I heard about it from another musician. Otherwise, I'd never even have know Mudcat existed.

I predict that in the coming week I will struggle with the temptation to lurk on Mudcat when I should be working, and will worry about being caught.

I further predict that I will not hear from the siblings I haven't heard from since 1988 or so. And that the media will treat all rumors, speculations, and remarks about the war as though they were hard news, and will treat anything resembling hard news as though it were divine revelation.
