Thanks to everyone who supported the news of our free charity Christmas recording, those who sent messages of encouragement, and those who kept refreshing the original thread! The finished project, 'Caleb's Cool Yule' by Caleb's Mission, is now ready.

This is a 40-minute set of unusual Christmas stories, poems and songs, and is supplied FREE for use on hospital radio, talking newspapers for the blind, and even prisons – to them it is offered as a simple public service, but copies for schools also serve to promote our charity, Health Help International. In Britain, broadcast-quality CDs are going out this week, and I'll be glad to hear from any similar organisations in other English-speaking countries who could use it - I may just be able to let you have a copy if you move fast and send me a PM quickly, or contact via www.skywriter.demon.co.uk Full details are on that site.

Cassette versions are on sale at eight pounds sterling in what is, candidly, a desperate attempt to try and recoup some of the cost of the ones sent free to good causes.

For anyone who missed the original announcement, HHI buys medicines and medical equipment for rural clinics in Zambia, where the standard of healthcare would scare the daylights out of you. Our last CD, which frankly was of a standard to match Zambian healthcare, succeeded in putting medical supplies worth over eight hundred pounds sterling (fourteen hundred dollars?) into those clinics - but the new one really is of super standard, so we hope it will both bless those in hospitals and promote our cause at the same time.

Thanks for your interest, everyone.

Congratulations, Ian:

I greatly admire what you're doing. If more folks stopped wondering Where Have All The Audiences Gone? and went out and found them among people who are in great need of any caring attention, we'd all be the better off for it..

How much for a CD? Do you take credit cards?

Sorry, Susan, we're too small a charity to handle anything sophisticated like credit cards! On our website, we said that anyone outside the UK can pop a couple of bills in an envelope and we'll worry about exchanging them later... but send me a PM or mail me at ianb@skywriter.demon.co.uk, and we'll work it out betwen us!

Thanks for the interest.

Hooray! Congratulations, Ian!

I. too, am interested in having a copy of the CD. Too bad you can't accept credit cards. The US Postal Service discourages mailing money; is it possible to send a personal check or a money order instead? (Besides, are you sure you want to receive any mail from the US right now?)

Can you post a complete list of what's on the CD? I know there's a partial list on the website, but I'm curious about the rest!

Yikes. Let me tell you a perfectly true story from England.

A public-relations girl for a ski-ing holiday company was, last week, promoting her winter holidays, and thinking what a neat trick it would be to include packets of fake snow in her press releases to journalists.

She was sealing down the fiftieth envelope when it suddenly occurred to her....!!!!

I'll post the album contents later! - Ian B
