Sorry if this is in the Digitrad: I tried the search but got an error.

Any Icelandic speakers out there who can translate Sigur Ros's haunting track Starálfur (I know the title means Elf Staring, anyway) for me?

If you join up as a member of Mudcat you can then send a personal message to Skarpi, who is our resident Icelandic member. Hope you find it.

I am told by someone who keeps better track of such things than I do that this is the group that was on the tube recently, coupled with Bjork. A group member, being interviewed, explained that though the vocals _sounded_ like language, actually the "words" were not in any language at all. The band was into sound, not meaning on that level.

I read an article - and they said something similar - not that the words were meaningless - but chosen more for their sound then for their meaning.
