04 Nov 01 - 08:18 PM (#585948) Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santas, Santees, and Gifts From: GUEST,Mary in Kentucky Hi Robin, Same problems here. I managed to send you a PM this morning, but can't now. I'm just waiting for one picture now, and I'll PM one more person to ask for a picture when I get my cookie back. I don't look for a lot of activity for a couple of weeks or so. I'll let you know about helping with the PM's when we get busier. Everybody else --- let us know when your Secret Santa is revealed. And if you can send a picture of yourself with gifts that would be great! |

05 Nov 01 - 01:55 AM (#586045) Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santas, Santees, and Gifts From: Amergin Kat do not fret, my dear...I am sure your santa is trying to find a piece of coal small enough for a wee box...either that or a nice spanking stick... |
05 Nov 01 - 02:03 AM (#586048) Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santas, Santees, and Gifts From: Liz the Squeak French crepe/gaulette paddles (spatulas) make nice spanking sticks... Available at a Calais hypermarket for a mere 45Ff, (45p - about a buck) they are supple, smooth and come either round or pointy ended for those extra flourishes... They're fantastic for getting that last little bit out of the food processor bowl (who designs these things with ridges in the bottom??) and are long and thin enough to get into the liquidiser jug. One of mine came with a traditional gaulette skillet, and I've been enamoured of them as a cooking utensil and instruemt of torture ever since.... LTS |
05 Nov 01 - 03:16 AM (#586051) Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santas, Santees, and Gifts From: GUEST,katlaughing Thanks, Amergin and LtS, now I at least know what I am getting!**BG** Sorry, Robin, didn't mean to make you feel worse than being without a cookie!*smile* kat |
05 Nov 01 - 08:34 AM (#586069) Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santas, Santees, and Gifts From: GUEST,Mary in Kentucky Liz, usually with these things the Secret Santa stays secret until the gift is given. It's fun to give hints all along to keep folks guessing. Of course, everything is up to each individual how they want to handle it. The page for Santas, Santees and gifts is just a way for people to send pictures of themselves and/or gifts. I've had fun learning about a couple of people I didn't really know before. |
05 Nov 01 - 03:18 PM (#586167) Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santas, Santees, and Gifts From: GUEST,Kim C no cookie Sure, Mary, I'll help, whatever you need. I already know who my Santa is - he told me so's I wouldn't be suspicious of the package - but I'm not spilling anything till it comes. :-) |

08 Nov 01 - 01:11 AM (#588049) Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santas, Santees, and Gifts From: GUEST if this is about secret Santa, why then are we not waiting to open these gifts until Christmas? I am confused... |

08 Nov 01 - 01:40 PM (#588358) Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santas, Santees, and Gifts From: Mrrzy No pix yet, but I've received mine (not opened, I'm being Good), and thje one I sent has been received (and opened). |
08 Nov 01 - 01:49 PM (#588371) Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santas, Santees, and Gifts From: Kim C Yes indeed! Mrrzy I went through the cookbook again last evening and picked out all the lovely things I am going to cook! Most of the recipes seem fairly uncomplicated, with easily obtainable ingredients. Whee! I told Mary I would send a photo of the dinner I make. Now, here's the other irony... Mister had already ordered for me a Flamenco dance video. (that is going to be my next project once I master belly dancing) So I figure we will have a Spanish dinner, and watch the Spanish movie. Can anyone recommend a good Spanish wine? :-) |

10 Nov 01 - 05:38 PM (#589868) Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santas, Santees, and Gifts From: Sorcha ummm, somebody who knows Firecat should go check the Santa/Santee page. I think the caption is wrong.
