Keith Kendrick & Lynne Heraud

Went to see Keith Kendrick and Lynne Heraud at our local Folk Club on Friday night. What a cracking evening! I have heard Keith before, singing solo and with various shanty groups, but I had never heard Lynne previously. The publicity mentioned that she is known as the 'Hertfordshire nightingale' - now I know why, she has a stunning voice and it is perfectly complemented by Keith's powerful shantyman voice. Not only was it a great evening but their CD, Stars in my Crown, is a faithful rendition of most of their repertoire. This makes a refreshing change from guest artists who sell CD's that turn out to have a 20 piece orchestra backing them in the studio! Keith & Lynne's singing of Lord Gregory is totally moving and is just as good on the CD as live on the night. If you get a chance to see this duo, don't miss it! And no, they haven't paid me for this plug! (not yet anyway!!)

Well said.

And if you're in this part of the world, and want to hear Lynne off-duty, so to speak, try coming along to Waltham Abbey, Hertfordshire, on a Monday night, at the British Legion Club in Sewardstone Road. (Contact: 01992 716121, 01992 714984. - basically a singers club, but with occasional guests.)

I was talking to Keith at the Captain Cook do at Whitby the other weekend.
He was very interested in Mudcat so may appear sometime
I am a great fan of both Keith and Lynne both singly and collectively and heartily agree with Arnie

A short sample of their singing can be heard on this page. (scroll to the bottom of the page and click)

Ed

P.S. The page also includes details of 'LANDSMAN'S PROGRESS' who have a certain 'Ralph Jordan' as a member. No wonder Ralphie's such a fan *grin*

Ed.....As my good lady would say..."Oi...watch it !!"
Landsmens Progress is a possible revival of a show based on Farming that first saw the light of day in the Mid 80s.
Written and produced by Tom and Barbara Brown, I, along with others were involved at that time, and there are plans to do it again with Keith and Lynne this time, maybe next summer if time and work allows.
Heck, I'll praise me mates as much as I like...So There! (G!)Regards Ralphie

Just to say that Keith and Lynn will be guesting at Herga Folk Club ( if you want to find out about the club)on Monday, 21st. January 2002. Although I knew them both individually I had not seen them perform together but had no hestitation in booking them for the club and the from the above comments we're in for a cracking night.

I heard Keith solo and with his group called "Three Sheets To The Wind" and the man is great. I'll bet these two are dynamite.

Any East Midlands fans of Keith's can see him at the Keyworth FC, The Griffin Inn, Plumtree, Notts on Tuesday 20 November. I'm certainly looking forward to it.
