My Martin's 'home' for a holiday repair

Well, I drove out to Nazareth today and the folks at Martin were sooo nice. They had initially sent me to O.Dibella Music after Max found a crack in the back of my 00015CE (twin of his) at Getaway. The pick up pin had popped out at camp when I let a counselor play it and I was ready to crucify him before Max saw the crack.

Then the folks at Dibella made me feel like a criminal, I must have left it near a radiator, out in the desert, dropped it and other wise should never own a guitar. They wouldn't touch it. I'd have to let Martin fix it.

Guy at Martin looked it over carefully and said ," Hmmm looks like we didn't tighten the nut enough..." I feel much better, but I still will be at least a month without my guitar!!! That leaves my son's electric or my ancient truely abused Barcelona... withdrawl is setting in.... HELP!!

Tinker: Whirr are you at?

I bought a Lawsuit Tak - D18 clone, essentially - on eBay a month or so ago, real cheap. It's all plywood but has an amazing sound for such. It's excess and I could lend it to you if we could get it to you. Mention of driving to Nazareth and of Max implies you're in PA. I'm in western VT about halfway up.

Peter.

Midchuck, I'm heading to Western Mass for Thanksgiving so you're really not far at all..... I got both of your CD's at Getaway as well.... For the first time ever I heard my husband sing along ( Boxers and Socks, of course)That would be so great.... Can you PM directions times that might work ???? THANK YOU THANK YOU

If Midchuck had one of the solid wood Lawsuit Taks, you might never go back after the Martin!

Sorcha, I checked it's actually 9.3 miles from Bethlehem PA to Nazareth PA. From my home in Northern New Jersey the trip was a bit over an hour and a half, but the kids had a day off of school and I really didn't want to ship it.... Have to go back now and do the tour as well, we missed it this time.

How funny! I suppose they both have big do's at Christmas?

Tinker, don't listen to them! I wouldn't play anything but my three Martins!

However, a dear friend and super songwriter (who plays a ugh! Yamaha!) likes to tease me that the reason I have three is one is always at Nazareth (which is only about 45 minutes from me in PA).

Sure, there are other guitars out there -- but I want my estate to read "MARTIN guitar" not just "guitar". Seems to me the anti-Martin group are just expressing well earned sour grapes.
