The thread title is self explanatory. The reasons complicated. Cheers JR

There's nowt like coming out of the closet, but Geordie Broon sounds far more romantic!

Cheers,

John - I am keeping my two Geordie Broon Badges to wear on special occasions.

Absolutely Diva - That is why I chose an "Alcoholic Geordie" name to disguise the real me.The secret is now out. :0) John R

That's why I said on an earlier thread:

I know you! Actually I had not thought about badges-perhaps we can start our own Mudcat Museum -other exhibits to include
A used Yorkshire Teabag -once squeezed by our own dear Bill Sables.
The original bottle of nail varnish used to paint AlanWW's toenails.
The identical jumpers worn by SueVg and Linda Kelly at Llanstock
Any other suggestions?......

I'm on a roll now ..
The mud stained trousers originally worn by John in Hull after he fell in the River Banwy.
Micca could donate the Holy Gail ....

Wonderful idea Linda - Do I know you?

A Virtual Mudcat Museum.

My first exhibit would be the half eaten carrot from the carrotoke at the Jug Yorkshire Gathering 2001

Eeeeeh, in years to come, when John is rich and famous, we will all say "I knew hime when he was just plain Geordie Broon". Sigh... Those were the days.

I will donate my beard to the Museum next time I go for the Mr Myagi look.

Cheers

How about Snuffy's wet t-shirt for the museum? And the ceiling of the Llanfair Caereinion Institute kitchen?

Ah, yes; the Mudcat Museum. Here are some suggestions:

A Damien Hirst formaldehyde sheep for Gareth
A chocolate hamster for John in Hull
Linda Kelly's Sparehand (the song, not the body part)
And of course a tableau depicting that glorious British institution - the Folk Club - invisible through a blue haze of smoke.

We could include quotations as well as virtual things. Mudguard stood in the kitchen doorway at Pippins and was heard to say "I need to pay for being trailer trash!" How we laughed into our all day breakfasts!

If you quote me, quote me correctly: "I still have to pay for being trailer trash".

And I still don't see what is so funny about that sentence...

And it is MudGuard with a capital G, not Mudguard.

The killer has to be Lady P's parting shot - "'Ere, woss the difference between pink and purple?"

(whilst holding squirming Bratling under one arm.....)

"The grip".

Liz - Sorry for confusion. Would it help if I signed my John Routledge postings "Geordie"? I have no objections to being called Geordie btw. Geordie

John/Geordie, that(in your last post) sounds like a good compromise, as you are Geordie in many peoples minds now, even tho' we use it alternately with John, Just as Linda, is irretrievably Dorritt to me, and may take a year or 2 to become Linda.
