I think the title was "Pauline". It wasn't much of a hit by whomever recorded it - but not being a hit hasn't stopped me before.... There are some lines in it which go: "I left Salt Lake City one summery dawn and rode into Reno the very next morn"... Here's some more,probably from a different verse: "...my heart skipped a beat, once or twice, maybe more; I can't recall when that happened before". chorus: "Pauline, Pauline, Prettiest girl that I ever have seen..." That is the only place and time I heard it. Some of the lines have stuck with me but not the title, so I finally found it here. |
