05 Dec 01 - 05:14 AM (#604089) Subject: Country hick chat From: Cappuccino There's a country dialogue I heard done in Scotland about 20 years back, which sounds as if it came originally from some old Grand Ole Opry performers. It's a conversation between the city slicker, asking for directions in the countryside, and the country hick. It begins: "You lived here all your life?" "Not yet!" And eventually finishes: "You're pretty dumb." "Mebbe… but I ain't lost!" I'm trying to find the entire thing, but have no idea where to start. Any ideas? Thanks. - Ian B |

I recall it also had this exchange: "Will this road take me into town?" "Nope--you'll have to walk!" and this: "Why don't you fix the leak in your roof?" "I ain't goin' up on the roof in the rain!" "Well, why don;t you fix it when it's not raining?" "If it ain't rainin' it don't need fixin'!" Steve |
