Lyr Req: Once a Day (Bill Anderson)

Subject: REQ- Song by Scott Stoneman(?)- Once a Day(?)
From: Chet W.

Looking for a song that I believe was written by wild fiddler Scott Stoneman. The chorus is >Once a day, all day long >and once a night from dusk to dawn >the only time I wish you weren't gone >is once a day, every day, all day long

Does anyone know a source for this? Do the verses have the same melody as the chorus?

Thanks, Chet W.

You coulda found this at COWPIE. And if this is the ONCE A DAY you were looking for, S/S didn't write it, the GREAT (whispering) BILL ANDERSON wrote it.

ONCE A DAY

Recorded by Connie Smith/Written by Bill Anderson

CAPO: ON 1ST FRET KEY: F# PLAY: F

When you [F] found somebody new

I thought I [C] never [C7] would

[C] Forget you, for I thought then I [F7] never [F] could

But time has taken all the [F7] pains a-[Bb] way

Until [F] now, I'm down to [C] hurtin' once a [F] day.

CHORUS/Once a day, all day [Bb] long

And once a [C] night, from dusk till [F] dawn

The only time, I wish [F7] you weren't [Bb] gone

Is once a [F] day, [Bb] ev'ry-[F] day, [C] all day [F] long.

I'm so glad that I'm not like a girl l knew one time

She lost the one she loved, then slowly lost her mind

She sat around and cried her life away

Lucky me, I'm only cryin' once a day.

CHORUS

TAG: Once a day, ev'ryday, all day long.
