Robert Johnson Special

This Thursday, according to my TV, there is going to be a special on this guy's life. Lots of interviews with friends and associates, lots of music, and I cannot for the life of me remember what channel or the exact time.

Any idea what it's to be called? Just the first word would facilitate searching on the cable box.

No - I don't watch that channel - It was either Discovery, or Discovery explorer, or something like that I looked on the Discovery site - but nothing - I'll search around tonight and see if I can spot it -

I believe this is the http://tvguide.com/Movies/database/ShowMovie.asp?MI=41378>(show) - I was unaware that it was made several years ago. The brief glimpse I got of it was pretty good I thought - piqued my interest anyway - hope this helps - Still haven't figured out how to find the darn thing on the TV guide.

Here's the web address of the website for this video which came out in 1997. Sorry haven't tried doing clickies here on the Mudcat which has odd rules, so if the clicky doesn't work Here's the address: http://www.robertjohnsonfilm.com/

I don't think it's on Discovery this week. I went through all their listings and came up zip. Same with TLC. Anybody else know about this? Help, it's must see tv.

What say that if we can't find it we all hop out to Steve's place in Idaho and kick his ass for even bringing it up?

Why not just buy the Columbia-Legacy 2cd box with his bio in fine print and 41 takes (all of them)?

I have that set as I'm sure the majority of 'Catters do, but I still want to see the show.

I have this video...It's ok, but I like John Hammond's "Searching for Robert Johnson" video better. I believe both are available from CDNow...through the mudcat link? I love Honey Boy Edwards' version of Sweet Home Chicago in The Hammond video.

Ummmmm, who is Robert Johnson, and why did he take his Terraplane down to the crossroads with a hell hound on his trail?
I wonder how long it's going to take me to get slammed for this?

Aw Chip, Ya gotta do better than that, there's a whole industry based on the breathless repetition of the Robert Johnson myths. "Robert Johnson, Did he REALLY sell his soul to the Devil--NEW EVIDENCE!"-Mudcat Enquirer. "Robert Johnson--How did he REALLY die?--Newsweek. "Robert Johnson died having Alien Baby!--National Star.

Spaw - I think you all should come out here, stay in the bunkhouse, enjoy Jan's superb home cooking, and kick my ass for bringing it up! I'll need to play standing up for a few days - but other than that I see no problem *G*!

This is worse than forgetting the words to my favorite song in mid chorus -

I'm surprised no one thought of looking at A&E. Could the video be on that network?

AWWWWWWW Spaw, While I can't yet live up to the master, (I'm not worthy), at least my feeble attempts at humour have not gone unnoticed. Thank you Sensi. Your comedy Fu is powerful.

Oh no my man.....You are very worthy! I just couldn't think of any other killer comeback although I thought maybe a rant thing might be better......But I get lazy. Get? Okay...I was born lazy....I also considered a post about a lottery for when someone posts to your post or a long thing about some other Robert Johnson.

But ya' done good!!
