Just heard. Telynor (John [John P.] and Anna Peekstok) will be on "The Beat" on KUOW-FM, 94.9, Seattle, at 2:00 p.m. PST this afternoon (Friday, 12/14/01). If you're not in this area, you may be able to get the program though the internet.

As of this moment (10:00 a.m. +/- PST), it hasn't happened yet. You've got almost four hours to make a cup of coffee, tea, pour a beer, whatever, and prop your feet up. That's four hours anywhere in the world.

DOH!

Spaw, this isn't news. I was once told "If they put your brain in a bird's ass, it'd fly backwards." It only gets me into trouble when I open my mouth (or hit "submit.")

Sorry.

Don't sweat it, Jeri. Don't tell anybody, but I had to count it out on my fingers, then check it with a calculator.

Hey! That's a hurdy-gurdy she's playing! Kewl! Near as I can tell there is no link for the live show, but we might be able to get the archives. Anyone else know differently?

Thanks, Don!

That is a live show link at the top. I just tried it and it works. It opens up another screen so you can let them know what kind of modem you have. Click the appropriate one, wait for a few seconds, and there ya be!

Jeri, you are one of the smartest people I know. On the other hand, my standards are incredibly low.

Blurb:--

Telynor's holiday concert is Saturday, December 15, at the Wit's End Bookstore and Tea Shop in Fremont. Advance tickets are available at the Wit's End (770 N 34th St, 206-547-2330) and also at Dusty Strings (3406 Fremont Ave. N, 206-634-1662).

Wow! They've been here all along, and this is the first time I've ever heard them. I am impressed!!

Me, too! I just bought their Christmas CD. Love those instruments and Anna's voice is crystalline, just beautiful! Thanks, again, Don!

Only problem was it was too short, only 30 minutes! If any of you missed it, be sure to listen to the archive.

According to KUOW's FAQ page, archived shows are usually available the day after broadcast. So, tomorrow. . . .

I sent the host, Dave Beck, an email thanking him for the great show and mentioned the Mudcat. Received a nice note back from him expressing curiosity about the Mudcat, SO, we may have a visitor, soon! Dave, if you read this, welcome to the Mudcat!

Dave Beck has been with KUOW for quite a while. I always enjoy his shows and interviews. He's a musician himself (cello), so his interviews with musicians of all kinds are especially good.

Don ... thanx for the warning, I was able to catch part of the show. GREAT MUSIC. By the way, about this silly confusion over the time. It's REAL SIMPLE. Let me spell it out for you ... real S L O W ! If my clock reads midnight (for example) the time is MIDNIGHT. It is midnight EVERYWHERE IN THE WORLD. Years ago, daughter Ingrid tried to confuse me by separating the world into different clocks, and clock settings, and crap like that. But I was way too smart for those childish games, so I set her straight ... LET ME TELL YOU! (stupid child) To this day (whatever it is) if it's midnight at my house, it's midnight everywhere and anywhere. If that doesn't work for them, then THEY have a problem, not me! Thanks for the nice comments, everyone. What a great thing the internet is! We're on a local radio show in Seattle and folks all over the world can listen in.

If any of the Seattle area folks make it to the concert tonight be sure to introduce yourselves.

Oh, hell, Spaw, I am sorry! If you'd come back and read Don's message after mine, you'd a know-ed like me!**BG** The archive probably will be better too, in that my RP cut out a lot as if there were a lot of traffic on there listening, so you win anyway.:-)

There was some great discussion on the instruments, including the "dog" on the hurdy-gurdy and how he lifts his hind end up!:-)

Actually, I was never able to connect by clicking on the 'live now' link. I finally put my mouse pointer on the link and entered the URL manually by reading it at the bottom of my browser. Luckily, there was five minutes or so of news before the show so I got in in plenty of time. Great performance, John and Anna and guest. Like kat, I also had several instances of rebuffering. Think I'll see if I can get the archive.
