20 Dec 01 - 04:10 AM (#613518) Subject: We 3 kings of Today programme are From: GUEST,Roger the skiffler The BBC Radio 4 Today programme used to have a "person of the year" poll but it was hijacked by political groups to ensure party favourites got elected. SO, this year it is Monarch of the Year -which British monarch was the greatest. So far, Elizabeth I and Victoria have been suggested among others but I feel there are some neglected early ones we ought to give a chance to. My three nominations are, in no particular order: King Nevill the Ne'erdowell King Cnut the Dyslexic King Etherlfred the Incontinent but no doubt you have your own favourites... RtS (first one to mention King Hoddle, Monarch of the Glen will be disqualified) |
