I'm looking for the lyrics for this tune. The first verse is: Back to my home town I wandered one day, it seems that the old friends had drifted away, I wandered down Main St., the view to enjoy, I met a young girl that I loved as a boy.

lists two recordings(?) of this song. "She has forgotten".

Another site simply lists the existance a 1959 recording by Don Reno, Red Smiley & the Tennessee Cutups.

lists a songbook (for sale) containing this song.
The songbook is titled:
"Doc Hopkins and Karl and Harty of the Cumberland Ridgerunners - Mountain Ballads and Home Songs. 53 Big Hits." 1936. Published by M. M. Cole Publishing Co. of Chicago.

I note that Karl Davis and Hartford (Harty?) Taylor are credited by the first web site as the authors of the song.
