The Double Decker String Band, an oldtime band from Washington DC area, give the same source for their recording of the piece. A recording with the same name was made in 1928 by The Famous Jubilee Singers - Masato or Dicho may have some knowledge of this. Anyhow, here is my transcription of the Double Decker recording - it seems to consist mainly of gospel floaters and may or may not accord with Muldaur's:
WAIT TILL I PUT ON MY ROBE --Stewie.

From: Stefan Wirz May I add that the Clarence Clay and William Scott version of this song can be found (if it can be found - I still didn't, and unfortunately the album isn't available on CD ;-) on their 1963 Prestige/Bluesville album 'The New Gospel Keys' (Bluesville 1066) Stefan |
