08 Jan 02 - 07:22 PM (#623762) Subject: Tape Recorder Problem From: Bobert I purchased a Teak A-2340 4 Channel Sync Reel to Reel Recorder from ebay. It arrived yesterday and worker perfectly playing back some old tapes I have for 3 hours and then it crapped out. What it is doing is this. When I put it on "play", the reels start turning very slowly and then build up speed and end up turning like they are in fast forward. Anyone have any ideas? |

But he did tell me to say "Hey" to you if I ran into you over here in the big city so, "Hey, Clet." Now, who around here is the wizard on old equipment? |
09 Jan 02 - 12:04 AM (#623907) Subject: RE: Help: Tape Recorder Problem From: CRANKY YANKEE I shave the exact same thing. check and see where the tape speed control is set. (either in or out)also the reel "size" control. My machine works on 15 inches per second and 7 inches per second. I'll give mine a going over tomorrow and see if I can figure out what's wrong with yours. Don't lose heart, it is a VERY good machine, and If I can't figure out a solution, put it in the shop, it will be very much worth the expense. I have the entire operation and repair manual, I'll copy it and send you a copy. Send me a PM with your mailing adress and I'll forward it to you. Jody Gibson |
