I stumbled across this site ... it's not listed per se in any search engine ... perhaps it's the owner's personal on-line songbook. Never mind ... here it is.

www.haven.org/~dkap/music/words/

I'm interested, but I can't get this site to come up. Perhaps some sort of cyber-viagra is needed here?

I stumbled on it by typing in the line of a song I couldn't find anywhere else and up came a link; I followed it and voila!

I've bookmarked it!!

I would guess someone connected with the school system in New Haven (haven.org). We should get an answer from someone.

Gern ...

On my 56K home conmnection it takes a while for the page to load ... connecting via my work's ISDN connection and it's up in a flash.

Stick with it ... don't move off ... the end result is worth it!!

Oh .. and by the way ... the main site of which this is a subsidiary belongs to Haven Writers' Guild. There are resources on the site which seem to be accessible to members only. This may be one of them on which security isn't sufficiently tight. Probably best that we don't go making too many enquiries. While the link above works, let's use it!!!

Here's another one I've stumbled across. I've also started a new thread to highlight it ...

On the list, Grazing Mace is a good parody of Amazing Grace.

I don't think www.haven.org has anything to do with the New Haven public schools. Hard to say what it does have to do with, since most of the links on its homepage go to a generic "Sorry, the Guild Charter is not up yet. Check back." sort of notice. However, the name of the place is clearly "Haven Writer's Guild", and there are email links to a Webmistress, a Guildmaster, and a Guild Second. But it's a wonderful list of TXTs. Thank you Jeri for pointing me back here.

I couldn't navigate through this site either. I kept getting the message, "You are not authorized to view this page." However I was able to search it using Google's Advanced Search function.

You can use their fill-in-the-blanks form (click the previous link) or you can search by using this URL:

http://www.google.com/search?as_q=CHORUS&as_sitesearch=WWW.HAVEN.ORG

In this case WWW.HAVEN.ORG was the site I wanted to search and CHORUS was the word I was searching for. (The words don't have to be in caps.) This technique works with almost any web site.

Also, when the Results page came up, I had to click on "Cached" to see the page. Otherwise I got the same old "You are not authorized to view this page" message!

Sorry to display my luddite tendencies quite so blatently but HELP Jim can you put that into English as I'd like to try that site but keep coming up with the "you are not authorised stuff" and I just don't do this technology thing (that's what teenage sons are for!) Jude

I'd love to help, but I need to know more about where you're starting out from.

Have you ever used Google before? Are you comfortable using it?

Do you know what I mean by a URL? Do you know how to copy and paste a URL into your web browser?

By the way, I need to log off soon. I'll come back and look for this thread later today.
