10 Jan 02 - 11:46 AM (#624896) Subject: New Entry in the Electric Guitar Market From: Steve Latimer I heard this on the radio the other day, but I had to check it out for myself. It seems that the folks at Fender, Gibson etc. have some new competition. Gucci. Yes, the over priced Handbag, Jewellry etc. people are now selling Eletric Guitars. I'd do a Blue Clicky, but the site is a little confusing. But if you go to their site www.gucci.com and then find your way into gifts you will see this guitar. They also sell silver or Resin Plectrums. The Price? $19,000 (I think U.S. dollars). I wonder if they'll throw in a silver pick at that price? At least the neck is Canadian Maple. Well, who's in? |

10 Jan 02 - 12:25 PM (#624917) Subject: RE: New Entry in the Guitar Market From: Rick Fielding I'm still in shock after seeing these little pink Daisy shaped guitars that are aimed at the GURRRLBAND market. NO, I'm not going to bother giving a blue clicky for them (even if I remembered their actual brand name)...There IS a limit! One of my fave stores (Songbird Music) has a dozen of them displayed like Boxes of Barbies. Egads! I've always preferred Yves St. Laurent guitars. It's the Brazillian gabardine you know. Rick |

With only one pickup and no whammy bar I can't see paying any more than $14,000 for it, tops. Of course there is that Canadain hard-rock maple neck. I think I'll save my money for Wes Montgomery's guitar at Mandolin Brothers. It seems like a better buy at $200,000. Be sure to check out the story on this axe. - Mark |
