Lyr Req: rout of the blues

Hello, Does anyone has the lyrics of 'the Rout of the Blues'? I heard it on a record of Robin and Barry Dransfield.

Actually, we're playing this song for years with our folkband 'Clochard', without knowing the complete lyrics, so some parts of the song we sing in a rather 'phonetic' way ;-)

thank you,

clochard

I think it is And when the French coast came in view.

Well it may have been the French coast in some versions, but it was definitely French horns when Robin and Barry recorded it as the title track of their album. But I'd always thought it was "pretty girls too" not "pretty girls two".

The set Cecil Sharp noted from Tom Gardiner in 1909 (virtually identical to the text used by the Dransfields, though I don't know about the tune) had "French Horn", so that form has traditional sanction.  Another version refers to trumpets at that point, another just to music.

OK so I was wrong! I agree about too instead of two, but you wouldn't know by listening, would you?.

It also sounds to me like

Each one SENDS up a load huzzah, but I am prepared to be wrong AGAIN. Ears getting old, I suppose.
