16 Jan 02 - 10:47 AM (#628975) Subject: Gigbag Preferences From: ranman I am looking for a new gigbag. I want something sturdy, stylish, functional, and resonably priced. I have two O size Lowdens and can't find a bag that fits well. Dreadnaught bags are the wrong shape to fit snuggly and classical bags are too small. I also do not like the backpack strapping that many of the nicer bags have. I would appreciate any feedback. Thanks. |

16 Jan 02 - 05:30 PM (#629263) Subject: RE: Help: Gigbag Preferences From: M.Ted Well, I caught the reference--am rather inclined to shop at tesco's when one is about. Apparently, their are now a few stateside, in Rhode Island or Connecticut. |

16 Jan 02 - 08:24 PM (#629371) Subject: RE: Help: Gigbag Preferences From: Nancy King Blue Heron cases are nice -- at least I like mine (not that I do gigs or anything, but it was great to carry my guitar around at the Getaway). Check out what Christine Lavin has to say about them; there's a link to her comments on Blue Heron website (sorry I'm not a blue-clicky person). THREAD CREEP ALERT: If the above sounds a bit disjointed, it's because I'm trying to write and listen to the Mark Russell Comedy show at the same time. He just sang, "Mama Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be Taliban..." Cracked me up. OK, back to gigbags. Nancy |
16 Jan 02 - 10:06 PM (#629410) Subject: RE: Help: Gigbag Preferences From: bigchuck FWIW, Taylor makes a line of very nice gigbags, attractive, functional, snug-fitting......of course they all say Taylor rather prominently on them. Reunion Blues are probably the best but they are pricey. Sandy |
16 Jan 02 - 11:40 PM (#629457) Subject: RE: Help: Gigbag Preferences From: DonMeixner I imagine you can find a gig bag that will fill all your requirements. I have never trusted them to protect anything myself. I agree with Bob, get some go, high end hardshells and worry only when you fly. :-) Don |
17 Jan 02 - 12:56 AM (#629507) Subject: RE: Help: Gigbag Preferences From: JennieG River Island??? That's a clothing-optional resort about 90 minutes drive from here (south-west Sydney Oz) - that's not the bag you mean is it? I do know a bloke who goes there regularly, I could ask him....... Cheers JennieG |
