21 Jan 02 - 06:32 PM (#632532) Subject: RE: Destructive Virus Hoax! READ!!!(Sulfnbk. From: Little Hawk It's back again, is it? I ran a thread on the same virus hoax months ago. He's right, folks. Do NOT follow the instructions to delete sufnbk.exe from your system. It's a normal program file which your system needs, and it was not planted there by any harmful outside source. Don't believe me? Call your server up and ask them first, before doing anything rash. You will be glad you did. Or look on the net under antivirus.com (I think that's what it's called...) - LH |

From: Wolfgang First there were viruses (or whatever the plural), then there were virus warnings, then there were virus warnings that were hoaxes then there were warnings that virus warnings were hoaxes, now we have a virus hoax warning that is a hoax and we need to be warned about. I'm still waiting for the first warning that a virus hoax warning is a hoax that itself is a hoax. Wolfgang |

24 Jan 02 - 08:10 PM (#635018) Subject: RE: Destructive Virus Hoax! READ!!!(Sulfnbk. From: Little Hawk Now wait just a minute here, Wolfgang... This virus hoax warning is not a hoax. If you do encounter a virus hoax warning, however, that is a hoax of a virus hoax warning, then be sure to warn all of us accordingly so that we won't be fooled into thinking that the hoax that fooled the kind of people who are regularly fooled into believing every warning they hear, including warnings against warnings of warnings about hoaxes, because then we...uh... I'm confused... Anyway, don't get mad if we choose to ignore your warning, on the supposition that it might also be a hoax. In the meantime, I'm gonna call up Dubya and see what he thinks about it. He's got the whole State Department to keep him informed, plus a mind like a razor, so I figure he should know for sure... - LH |

25 Jan 02 - 02:59 AM (#635167) Subject: RE: Destructive Virus Hoax! READ!!!(Sulfnbk. From: Mark Cohen LH, you've clearly learned one of the great lessons of life: Never imagine yourself not to be otherwise than what it might appear to others that what you were or might have been was not otherwise than what it had appeared to them to be otherwise. Aloha, Mark |

25 Jan 02 - 03:04 AM (#635168) Subject: RE: Destructive Virus Hoax! READ!!!(Sulfnbk. From: Mark Cohen Obviously, that was wrong. It should have read: Never imagine yourself not to be otherwise than what it might appear to others that what you were or might have been was not otherwise than what you had been would have appeared to them to be otherwise. There, that's much better. Aloha, Mark |
