Song Challenge Lawnchair Larry

I'm sure many of you have heard of the story of Lawn Chair Larry. If not you can read about it at the link below. I think it is one of the most incredible stories Ive heard. And I know it was irresponsible and dangerous etc etc. but I'm glad he did it. It is people like this who make me go "Jesus! Some people are crazy" and I am glad they are. So who will rise to the challenge. Can the mudcat find a suitable tune and witty lyrics to pay homage to this modern day legend.

No real lyrics yet but the tune- "Up,up and away,in my beautiful balloon" comes to mind right away. Something like...

Up, up and away, with his beautiful balloons, Larry likes to sway in his chair made of alum.,

He can glide along with pistol, and six pack of beer, but when he falls back to earth, the cops will all be near.

Thats about all I'm going with this one! Rustic

It is a cool story but ultimately so sad. This little tribute to Third Eye Blind's "Jumper" is all Im have to say.

Wish you had stepped back from thta ledge my friend.
Nothing is worth the price you paid out in the end
Miracle kept you from dying in the sky
so I don't under stand.
I don't understand.

I really am saddened by this story. It is always the dreamers who don't fit in. If I still had a functioning liver, I raise a glass to him. Here's t'you anyway, one larry to another, - Larry

"The Balloon Song [the Lawn Chair that Flew]" by Gemini (Laszlo and Sandor Slomowitz) is actually about this incident.

Okay, I'm off to write a ditty on the order of "45 Red Balloons" (or should that be "lead balloons" since that's what the stunt went over like!), based on "99 Luftballoons" by Nena. My apologies in advance to the German 'Catters, but I'm going to have to write it in English, since the only other language I ever learned is Spanish!
