Nicely done, Pterry. When you have some time, you might want to go into the Permathread with FAQs and read some of the memorable threads. I think the one about why we chose our nicknames is in there and is a lot of fun to read, as well as others.

Welcome, once again, to the Mudcat Cafe.

Well when you bob up aain, thanks for coming back as I hope you will enjoy all the 'Cat has to offer in both music and community. You arrived in the middle of some of the occasional weirdness that happens from time to time and I hope you weren't put off by it. Growing pains you might say.

Again, welcome to the 'Cat.

welcome and here's a tip.
click a few likely threads and save the pages without reading, take them home on floppy and have your posts in text files ready to cut & paste. It sure helps if you get fancy with the HTML. Though it lacks some of the spontineity - Spaw will always beat you to the punchline, he would've anyway!!!
If your company's policy is clear on use of the internet I would counsel caution though, if in doubt do it in public - at the library.

Gee, Mr. Red, nothing like handing Spaw a line: if in doubt do it in public - at the library...**BG** Sounds like a bmper sticker a few people I know would like to have, including librarians!

Congratulations, Pterry, yu've just had your first "thread drift" in your very own thread.:-)

Welcome, Pterry. Gotta say though- in Alaska we have ptarmigan (and there used to be a local tour company that had 'Ptarmigan Ptours' painted on its bus) so your name startles me.

We have a lot of 'Chicken' names here- the story goes that the early miners didn't know how to pronounce or spell the ptarmigan they ate for Sunday dinners so they gave them a familiar name. There's even a Chicken, Alaska, whose name came about the same way. And I myself live on Chicken Ridge.

So much for that... Welcome, Pterry!

Actually I think it was Red who inspired the Beatles to sing, "Why don't we do it in the road....."

Ebbie, we've got ptarmigans in Colorado, too, or at least we did when I was in school and had to do a report on them and how they change colours for winter etc.!**BG**
