After the third verse, Buffy returns to the bridge and then ends the song with Verse 2. She did an album in 1996 called Up Where We Belong, which was mostly re-recordings of her earlier songs. Many of these recordings had slightly different lyrics. Some I like better than the originals, some not. A couple of minor changes: wand'rer, chasin', I've done right, Ive done wrong there, valleys. She does not capitalize piney wood hills, but I gather they comprise a lot of western Canada. Included are guitar chords and piano score. The book includes 60 songs she wrote, all with guitar chords, most with melody lines and many with piano chords, also discography up to 1971. The latter variations are tiny and inconsequential, but I mention because of Joe's strikethrough editing. For the database, I suppose it would be best to give the lyrics as Buffy St Marie copyrighted them. |
