05 Feb 02 - 03:28 PM (#643264) Subject: Canadian nonprofit culture organizations From: GUEST,Marion Hello all! I've just discovered a government program called Cultural Youth Internships - the govt. will provide funding for non-profit "heritage and cultural organizations and institutions" to hire young interns. I'd like to find an interesting group to work for and get them to make a funding proposal, and I'd like to find them fast, as the deadline is February 15. Any suggestions? Naturally I'd hope for something related to traditional music, and it would be nice (but not necessary) to stay in Toronto. Is there such a thing as a non-profit studio? Merci beaucoup, Marion |

National Endowment for the Arts, or perhaps a provencial arts council. You might be able to get a list of Toronto based arts groups there. DougR |

I find I get more out of it than I contribute. Yup, I'm a Canucklehead. B.C. raised, now living in the second province from the left (that would be a geographical, not political description). Is that federal moola you're after? The Canadian equivalent to the NEA that DougR refers to would be the Canada Council. In Alberta we have the Alberta Foundation for the Arts, I don't know about Ontario. Good luck in your quest Cheers, Bardford |
