07 Feb 02 - 04:57 AM (#644380) Subject: RE: Musical Memories From: GUEST,MCP I've given it a few references recently: Minnie The Moocher and There's A Man Who Comes To Our House and agree it has lots of great stuff. Not folk but songs I love; and the novelty section has a lot of interesting songs. Mick |

07 Feb 02 - 04:22 PM (#644754) Subject: RE: Musical Memories From: katlaughing LOL...now, ljc, ya know I wasn't even a sparkle in m'dady's eye when most of these came out! The admin of that site, known as "Ida" is just great. I am going to post this to the other threads I started, today, for my dad, but I'd sent her a compliment about the site and mentioned two songs he was looking for. Within the hour, she wrote back to let me know she'd put one up and would do the other next week, as she only allows 1/request per week per person. Really nice and can't believe how prompt. Her heart is obviously in this! Thanks, again, ljc! luvyakat |

04 Apr 02 - 06:03 PM (#683188) Subject: RE: Musical Memories From: SharonA Unfortunately, the site now has nothing but this message: "Due to financial overload, THE BEAT has stopped. But, oh, what a ride!! Goodbye...... Good luck!" Thanks to JenEllen for updating us on this. Perhaps, like Lyrics World, it will rise again somewhere else. We can only hope. |

04 Apr 02 - 07:28 PM (#683257) Subject: RE: Musical Memories From: 53 I also have a special memory and that was when I first started to play guitar, my dad would play the drums while my buddies and I would play guitar together. Daddy was a professional drummer and played with the Big Bands of the 30's. |
