As an ex-midwife, I gotta ask...

Why 'Oxytocin'?

aussiebloke

Your music is lovely BTW - thanks for sharing it.

He he, good question, aussiebloke, we think that "Oxytocin" is the hormone that is responsible for teaching us how to love!! John& Christine.

It seems that someone agrees with you...
HORMONE INVOLVED IN REPRODUCTION MAY HAVE ROLE IN THE MAINTENANCE OF RELATIONSHIPS

Fascinating article! It's becoming clear that many hormones and other endogenously-generated substances have effects on the brain and other body systems that go well beyond the basic physiologic functions I learned about in med school. By the way, obstetricians and labor-room nurses (in the US, at least) call oxytocin "pit", short for its trade name, "Pitocin" (derived, presumably from "pituitary" + "oxytocin"). It's given intravenously to induce or augment labor. But this new finding might give new meaning to the concept of being "in the pits"!

Aloha,
Mark

LOL!! BTW, This CD is really beautiful; I especially recommend the Plough Boy Lads, Carrickfergus, and the lilting Rosedale Fair. The vocals are strong, lively clear, and flexible, and the instruments are clear, lovely and well-played. A loverly product!!

Harpmaker,

What a wonderful CD! Recorded very clean, with clear vocals and beautiful harp playing (I'm just starting on the harp, so listened to your playing with studious joy!)

BTW, thanks for the swap...I sent my CD to you today, so hopefully you will receive it before long. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have enjoyed yours!

Robin

Since the making of this CD 2 years ago, I thought you would like an update up to now. The CD has had a lot of radio play in the UK inc' Mike Hardings folk show. Cirtain tracks have been chosen by Amos and are on the mudcat CD's (sterling work A!) Many, many copies have gone all over the world, and the feedback has been better than one could imagine. As a result, we have & are recording some fantastic artist's in the studio, inc' Hissyfit's 'fish out of water' and one of the best known Flemenco guitaris's in the UK, Mr R Kaye. I don't have much time for harpmaking these days!! (website above being updated)

I have a copy of this album which John kindly sent me a couple of years back. It's full of clear, simple arrangements and fine singing. I am glad to hear it is doing so well.

I should have written "a copy" instead of "a couple". This is what comes of typing when you are still waking up! Good luck with it John and Christine.

It's time you recorded another one johnny boy. I hope all goes well with Robin Kaye, he has to be England's best Flamenco guitarist by a mile.

I can recommend John whole heartedly, as a fantastic producer. he has patience humour and wonderful equipment!!! Hazel and I were quite disappointed when we fnished recording 'Fish out of Water' because we had had so much fun doing it. The result is better than we could ever have imagined. If you are looking for a quality recording, then give John a ring.

Thank you all for your lovely comments. Just a thought though, I have had no problem getting radio play with this disc thruought the uk.
But, my local radio station (radio humberside) shows no interest whatsoever. You would think a local lad would get at least a REPLY, (being a harpmaker in these parts aswell) Makes you wonder who's pushing the buttons. ER--

We actually heard a couple of tracks in a car of the daughter of a friend in Ko Samui. Imagine our surprise! (You'd sold a copy to a friend of Maggie's - sister to Ko Samui friend)

We regret to say that bootleg copies are already available on the streets on Bangkok.
