The latest version was issued just last month on a CD. I have loaded the 2 databases into ASKSAM3. There are now 114,773 entries in the folk song index, and 119,651 in the broadside index.

Folk song index data is in 4 files totalling 29.794 megabytes, and broadside index data is in 5 files totalling 28.380 megbytes. Asksam3 adds some column markers, and entry # markers, but not too much overhead, so the ASKSAM3 files run about 45 megabytes. Fixed column width database systems require much more storage space (most of which is practically empty) and run 6 times as much storage, or more.
Note that this is for traditional song research, and field recordings are included, but 'revival' singers aren't. No songs from Ewan MacColl, Jean Redpath, or other professional entertainers.
