I'm looking for the name of this song or who performed it . One line of it is 'Dan can't you see the big green three where the water's flowing free and it's waiting there for you and me.

I think that was the first song I noticed on the radio. It was a big hit for Vaughn Monroe as I recall. Others did it also, The Sons of the Pioneers, for one.

"Cool Clear Water"" "All day I face the Barren waste, without a taste of water---cool clear water!" I may be wrong, but wasn't it a film theme. 'way back?

The song that you refer to is entitled "Cool Water" and was one of the hits of the americain singer Frankie Lane. He also recorded a number of film themes such as "Rawhide"etc

This song was written by Bob Nolan, member of the Sons of the Pioneers, and copyrighted in 1936. Yahoo Music lists "178 titles total" (dupilcations included).

Many Johnnies come lately did it, but, I like the original with Bob Nolan doing the lead.
