BS: Where'd everybody go?

This is weird. From 6:27 pm EST till now, the only person to post to the Forum is me. Either everyone else is eating, sleeping, singing and composing long, elaborate treatises for the political threads.... or.... it's the end of the world and I missed it.

It WAS the end of the world. You didn't miss that much, though. I wish I'd missed it.

LOL!!

Peter T: That reminds me of the old Twilight Zone episode (with Charles Bronson and Elizabeth Montgomery) where the male soldier in a war meets his enemy (a female soldier of the opposing side) in a deserted, bombed-out town, and they end up dining together in what's left of a restaurant.

Anyway, I'm glad to see I wasn't alone back there... and I'm glad to see everyone back again! *whew* :^)

Wasn't that Twilight Zone episode a remake of "The World, The Flesh, and the Devil"?

MMario: Don't know if it was a remake, exactly, but the movie definitely preceded it. "The World, The Flesh, and the Devil" (Harry Belafonte, Inger Stevens, Mel Ferrer) came out in 1959. The TZ episode, "Two", first aired on September 15, 1961.

Seems likely that the episode lifted the characters' predicament from the first part of the movie (before Ferrer came on the scene). On the other hand, several TZ episodes used nuclear holocaust as a plot device, and the brotherhood of man and the conquering of stereotypes were recurring themes throughout the series.

Wow, I haven't thought about that movie in many years. Thanks, MMario!

I dont know that I would call it "rapture" but I sure enjoyed the evening with my good friends in Md. last night. Havn't seen Joe Hickerson in ages. I love what he does with a song. George Stevens worked his own magic, as did Kathy, Jennifer and Lorraine. Nice dinner and evening. Thanks again Kathy.

Sharon, thanks for reminding me of the Harry Belafonte movie. I loved the scene where he throws the dirty dishes out the window and says he wll change apartments when the pile reaches the window sill.

53-Glenda signing on here.

I have been busy de-stablizing, re-stablizing (or trying to), and writing so much poetry and songs and just journal stuff that I feel as if I've been in a whirlwind and it isn't slowing down much.

I am glad to have Bob home too. We've a long way to go to both being really stable tho'. So everyone out there who believes in the power of prayer, please say one for us.

Thank you in advance (and after the fact for those of you I know are already doing so).

It is great to have friends like you guys.

Glenda
