Does anybody know the rest of a parody that starts:

The hills are alive, and I think they're hungry,
They haven't been fed for a thousand years;

Dunno, but I heard there was a parody that went

"The hills are alive with the sound of mucus ..."

or something like that.

From: GUEST,Fred

I haven't heard of those, but I will offer this one, origin unknown. (At least it's from the same musical!)

MY FAVORITE THINGS
(AARP VERSION)

Maalox and nose drops and needles for knitting,
Walkers and handrails and new dental fittings,
Bundles of magazines tied up in string,
These are a few of my favorite things.

Cadillacs and cataracts and hearing aids and glasses,
Polident and Fixodent and false teeth in glasses,
Pacemakers, golf carts and porches with swings,
These are a few of my favorite things.

When the pipes leak,
When the bones creak,
When the knees go bad,
I simply remember my favorite things,
And then I don't feel so bad.

Hot tea and crumpets, and corn pads for bunions,
No spicy hot food or food cooked with onions,
Bathrobes and heat pads and hot meals they bring,
These are a few of my favorite things.

Back pains, confused brains, and no fear of sinnin',
Thin bones and fractures and hair that is thinnin',
And we won't mention our short, shrunken frames,
When we remember our favorite things.

When the joints ache,
When the hips break,
When the eyes grow dim,
Then I remember the great life I've had,
And then I don't feel so bad.

That's brilliant...and it's getting to the point where I can almost see there from here...I hope I'll still think it's funny!

Aloha,

Good one, Fred.

I'd still like to find that "...sound of mucus..." thing.

And of course there is the infamous

Dos a beer, a mexican beer
Ray's a bloke who buys me beer
etc

Sounds like the whole of the Musical can be parodied:-)

Cheers

DtG: I thought it was

Dough, the stuff that buys my beer

Ray, the guy who pours my beer

Me, the guy who drinks my beer

Far, a long way to the john

So, I'll have another beer

La, la la la la la la!

Tea, no thanks I'll have a beer,

Which will bring us back to....
