As a friend of my says,"my memory is what I forget with." In this case I can remember only a few lines of the love song I believe is titled "Come To My Bedside". I'd really like to know all the words, and possibly the author. Some lines include: Come to my bedside my darling Come over here and gently close the door, Lay your body soft and close beside me, Drop your peticoat on the floor. I have waited for you for such a long time...etc. A fellow named Bill Arthur used to sing this around the campfire. Some may know him - a wonderful voice - a wonderful song. Help, please. Thanks, RonU.

Check some Eric Anderson recordings. He has done it but I don't know what CD it's on.

The song was written by Eric Andersen, title is 'Come to my Bedside' & is on his "Today Is The Highway" album, Vanguard VSD-79157. Dunno if its been re-released on CD or not. After 30 years,(my memory ain't what it used to be & probably never was)bear with me but I think the words are: (Your 'first verse' is actually the chorus):

I waited for you oh such a long time-I tried to grow & be a better man-Then you knew your love has made one poor heart wealthy-Though my clothes may lay tattered in your hands.

Your breast has told my ears life's golden secrets-Your back has shown my fngers endless rows-Your lips have whispered wisdom that is timeless-About life & death and things I'd never known.

Your eyes are bluer than the mountain water-Your hair is flowing dark & flowing long-Your skin has more gold than a morning sunrise-And its softer than the breeze of a summer's dawn.

I miss you more with every passing sunset-I plan a plan on every new day born-Words cannot describe one thing I'm sure of-And its in my loving arms where you belong.

(I think...) Regards:-)
