Then in 86-87, he was involved in the scandal that crumpled his "PTL CLUB". Unbeknownst to most, during the media frenzy that ensued, the Dutch moved the dikes out farther than they had in the previous 20 years!!! Was the scandal a hoax perpetrated by the Dutch to deflect attention from their activity? Certainly! Remember...next time anything becomes a major news story, keep an eye on the Dutch! Also, consider this: Whenever people go "Dutch Treat" on a meal, it means that each person pays for his own meal. In other words, it is a "looking out for myself" attitude. From: Lanfranc Harvey's comment reminds me of a wedding that took place in Harwich (pretty close to the Netherlands and with a sea-route to Hoek van Holland). The bride was Dutch, the groom, English, and the bride and bridesmaids wore traditional Dutch costumes. Unfortunately, the headline in the Harwich newspaper read: "Bride and bridesmaids wore Dutch caps" which caused much embarrassment to the family concerned. This does not mean that we should ignore the current threat. Come to think of it, what are these Johnny foreigners up to, getting involved in British contraception? The results could be foetal!
