Susan -

I was going to stay up 'til the midnight hour to protect my bid. Unfortunately sleep won out. Did my 84-day bid hold up?

See my note other thread (and PM any additional questions)-- an alternative would be to come to our May 3-5 Mudcat Gathering (you are after all a voyager) and pick it up in PERSON!

MUDCAT STRIKES AGAIN

90+ days after my auction bid, the 1962 Newport Songbook
arrived this week coincident with my 50th birthday
! Nice timing, Max!

As I mentioned to WYSIWYG, one of the beautiful
coincidences in this songbook is the following twist

The Stanley Brothers are listed singing
"I'm Born to Ride" - traditional

Dock Boggs songbook entry included
"Oh, Death" - Dock Boggs

40 years later(!), Ralph Stanley earns the Grammy award
for this penetrating, mournful tune
. And to see that it all winds back to Newport, 1962 is
quite a twist. I guess, Time does reward the triumphant survivors somehow

End of meandering message
