I'm thinking of going to the Hexham Gathering on the Jubilee weekend. Anyone been before? Is it usually good? Anyone going this year?

Lucky folkies! I was there too last year. Can't make it this time round though --four-five thoosan' mile is a lang wey! Last year was as you say---real good! I missed the mooning through the back window though--shame! I used to "mc" the folk club there a lot o' years back [I lived in Hexham] and I know what a hotbed of folk-music talent there is around. Enjoy---and if you should happen to run into Terry Conway, or Stefan Sobel or a guitar swingin guy named "Chippie" or a moaning geezer who goes by "Wizard" in the Queens Hall cafe, down by the Abbey seal bandstand or in the Tap and Spile, just say--"Scotch Bob's sorry he canny be wi' yez this year"!
