A mate and I decided it would make a good holiday to cycle the towpath of the local canal out of Brum and into the countryside. The towpath had crumbled and I hit the hole first and went in. The silt at the bootom held me as I was in a kneeling position so I stuck my arm up and my mate saw it and pulled me out. It was a slack newsday, but indicative of how mainstream folk was at the time because I was only a floor singer at the Jug O Punch in Brum and had just made my first E.P with Martin Carthy. This is the most obscure event I have yet had to return to in my life. |
