Tune Req: Loftus Jones (O'Carolan)

I have a recording of the O'Carolan tune "Loftus Jones" (done by Patrick Street) but I am still looking for the sheet music with no success. Can anyone refer a tune book with it? (Finally got the Mouth of the Tobique.)

Thanks. alice in montana

It's #64 in 'The Complete Works of O'Carolan', Ossian Publications, 2nd ed., 1989. It's also in Bunting's 2nd collection, 1809, which has been reprinted, and might still be available.

Hi Alice

Have you discovered this site yet? It's one of my favourites. I've given the address of the O'Carolan page but there is a page of other folk tunes as well. Loftus Jones is on the O'Carolan page and you can download the midi file, and if you have a music software origramme like Noteworthy you can see the midi file as sheet music notation, and you can also print it out. (A shareware demo of Noteworthy can be downloaded and it prints out the sheet music.)

Hey, thanks, Helen! I have notation/midi software called "ConcertWare". Haven't attempted changing from midi to notation, yet, but it will do that. alice
