OK..I'm a new boy to Mudcat...and I guess this question has been asked before.....but I'm looking for the tuning D Mac uses for 'I Feel so Near' I know you can play it in standard tuning..but I saw him live, and it defo wasn't a standard tuning he used. Any bright ideas? Mal.

I'm pretty sure he uses DADGAD on this one. It seens to work.

While we're on the subject...Does anyone know the tuning and chord shapes he uses for "Gin I Were A Barons Heir". A beautiful song which I can do in standard but it sounds nothing like his version.

Cheers

I use DADGAD for "gin I were a barons heir" I'm sure I read somewhere that he often uses some sort of C tuning.

I found several tabs with tunings that you didn't ask for,
Ready for the Storm:
Tuning: Open-Cm (CGCGCEb)
Capo: 5th fret

She Loves Me:
Capo 1; tuning DADABD
or Capo 3: tuning CGCGAC

What I did was go to Google, type in "dougie maclean" then asked the Search Within Results for tab. Lotta different places have a couple.
