04 May 02 - 05:06 PM (#704397) Subject: Jug Band Day on WFDU From: WFDU - Ron Olesko This Sunday May 5 during WFDU-FM's TRADITIONS broadcast, we will pay tribute to Jug Band Day. No, don't go running to your calendars, you don't have a three day weekend or anything - this is a spur of the moment holiday that we decided was needed. My guest will be Jack Pignatello, one of the founding members of the Dirdy Birdies Jug Band. Jack has collected recordings from jug bands across the globe. We will have some fun and talk a little history. Join us anc check out some really nice jugs. Traditions can be heard from 3 to 6pm Eastern Time over WFDU-FM, 89.1 in the NYC area. You can listen in via the internet through our website at www.wfdu.fm |

05 May 02 - 10:35 PM (#705040) Subject: RE: Jug Band Day on WFDU From: bflat Ron, you invited the commentary when you said," join us and check out some really nice jugs." I at first thought, "nah, he doesn't mean THAT!" Well, I listened to most of the show and I don't recall a reference. I thought the subject and music was most interesting and enjoyable. Let the jugs play on. Ellen |
