Having completed my grand tour of Europe last week I am embarking on my grand tour of the West Country next week. Any information on folk clubs near Gloucester Tewksbury and St Austell in Cornwall would be gratefully recevied.

Mr Red's folk site
Bristol Pub Sessions (with links to local folk clubs)
Both useful sources of westcountry info. And plenty of links to other sources too.

The nearest to St. Austell is probably Bodmin Folk Club, Friday nights.
Address, web site etc available from www.folknewskernow.co.uk
On the links page.
Enjoy the visit, let us know if you decide to go to Bodmin.

Will do, am visiting Eden Project Lost Gardens etc because I am intensely interested in the environment which is why I am going down in a petrol guzzeling VDub with no catelitic converter -well you have to do your bit don't you?

Linda - if you ring Jan the Van she knows the sessions in that area. Chris Ridley's site lists in Cornwall (I link to it) and when I was in Falmouth there was a session on the Tues in Jacobs Ladder (at the top of the steps called....) Wed was an open stage/mic night. I waqs told by Pete Grassby not so long ago that the Gunnards Head hotel near Zennor still have a bash on Wed night.

The Wed night at the Gurnards is still running it alternates between Irish (mainly tunes)one week and Bluegrass the next.
Friday nights there is usually a band or solo booked.
It's us on the 7th June. Plug, plug.

isn't there a session in the Lizard, Top House or am I confusing you with another John I know from Kernow now?
It's on my "other links" page Linda. I am too mean to waste good 'catting time to look right now.

Just for info I now run the Folknews Kernow online pages. Chris Ridley does the paper copy and I the web. I'll be in touch about a link soon.

Free admission and its been going on for over 10 years with regular visitors from the Bacca-pipes F.C. Keighley
And people come to listen as well
Hope you are well John
