15 May 02 - 05:44 PM (#711122) Subject: Looking for Elton John From: C-flat I'm sorry to bring my non-folk/blues request to this forum but knowing what a helpful lot you are I thought I might get a result. I'm trying to find a particular album by Elton John titled "Love Songs" which was released on TV records (no. TVA3) in 1982. All my previous searches have come up blank except for another album of the same name which was released some years later but doesn't contain the same tracks. The album I'm looking for does show up in a fan-site discography and has a picture of a black upright piano on the cover. Any help would be appreciated and may earn me HUGE bonus points with "her-indoors". |

15 May 02 - 06:09 PM (#711147) Subject: RE: Help: Looking for Elton John From: C-flat I just realised that I DID ask for "album" when I meant to ask for C.D. Sorry for the confusion! |

15 May 02 - 06:40 PM (#711168) Subject: RE: Help: Looking for Elton John From: GUEST Hmmm, There appear to be two 1982 'Love Songs' Both appear to be UK only releases. See this page. The one on TV records that you mention Click and one on Rocket Records with the same track listing but a different cover. Click. That one appears to be a CD only release, although the page I gave earlier suggests otherwise. I'll hunt round a bit more and see what I can find. I assume you are in the UK? |

15 May 02 - 07:00 PM (#711187) Subject: RE: Help: Looking for Elton John From: GUEST I'm going to bed now, and haven't had any luck I'm afraid. However, this page describes the CD as being as being [very] hard to find. It might be worth posting a message to the Elton John Usenet Forum Another option might be to buy the vinyl album and make a CDR from it (or get someone you know to do it if you don't have the equipment) That way your wife would have a unique CD! Now, that whould get you brownie points! *grin* |
