16 May 02 - 05:01 AM (#711430) Subject: UK Quakers, looking for an old friend From: okthen I'm trying to find a Quaker friend of 30 years ago, tho' we have not met for 10 years we would still like to say hello,his name is Tim Thompson. Tim is/was? married to Friedl who was older than him and German, we heard some time ago that she had not been well. They used to have a house in mid Wales but think they sold it and we have no idea where they are now. They used to be in contact with us but we have not heard for some while and are a bit concerned. There are of course other ways of tracing people, using electoral rolls etc. and doing a bit of homemade detective work. Let us now how you get on. There's a site called 192.com, which allows free searches for phone and electoral roll information, where it isn't ex-directory. It's not complete, as some people are not on it, and the free searches need you to confine your search to one county at a time, but it might help. Penny |

If you can recall the area of Wales he was in I can probably identify the Clerk of his former meeting who will have a record if he requested a membership move. (Yep even we Quakers are bogged down in bureaucracy :) ) This might put you on his trail AWM |
