From: DMcG The site www.emusic.com has some arrangement where the customer pays a flat fee and can then download as many MP3 tracks as they like. The site says that half the profits are paid to the artists. Does anyone know to what extent this works? My guess is that 'minority' music like folk could be penalised this way, in the same way it is under the Performing Rights charging scheme, but I don't really know. |

If you click on "About emusic" you can also read the following, which seems significant: NEW LABEL SUBMISSION FORM EMusic has digital distribution contracts with over 650 independent labels. Because we focus on labels, we are very busy. We do not offer deals with unsigned artists.
