18 May 02 - 06:31 AM (#712819) Subject: Old Dyer's Arms From: GUEST,Dave Bennett The name "The Dyer's Arms" has cropped up in the thread @ Pat Cooksey's "Paddy & the Barrel". This is a little Pub in Coventry, where there was a Backroom wherein "music was played". The Furies, Sean Cannon, Pat Cooksey, Gibb Todd and many others partook of a little light refreshment while indulging in a spot of creative artistic endeavour of the musical variety. The variety of music and instruments played, and the quality of the playing was amazing, The "Craic",as they say, was 90, and folkies came from all over the place to hear these sessions in the seventies. Does anyone out there have any recollections of these momentous events? Was anyone sober enough to remember anything? Or was it all a figment of my M&B Brew 11 fuelled imagination? |
