22 May 02 - 03:59 AM (#715126) Subject: RE: Review: Bayou Seco From: greg stephens Having spent a year building a wooden house with a nice south facing verandah in the trees, mainly with a view to sitting on said verandah playing the banjo and drinking gin and tonic: we had an evening of intolerable pleasure after persuading Bayou Seco to come and stay. They were out there with the instruments in no time flat. And what wonderful strange tunes they know,an expererience not to be missed. Magic! |

Hi Folks We have a one off informal music session next Monday, 27th May. It's at The Kings Head in Guilsfield (2 miles out of Welshpool) - real ale, mad landlord, etc. We're very lucky to have Bayou Seco from New Mexico coming along for the evening. They have spent a lifetime gathering traditional songs and tunes from the Southern States, including some unusual Native American and Spanish material and are well worth seeing. They also have a wicked sense of humour.

Didnt want paying, and as for wicked sense of humour - Ken loves to pull his beard over his face, stick his glasses on over the top, and continues to play until audience cracks up. Blooby nice folks playing bloody good music. What more can you ask? |
